Aria’s Story

Site created on February 15, 2022

Our precious daughter Aria Lane Arrington was brought into this world in the very early hours of February 13th, 2022 via emergency C-Section. Abi labored at home for 36 hours with little progress before as a team Ryan, Abi, and the midwife decided it would be best to transfer to Broadlawns Hospital. Once there and checked in, it didn’t take long for things to take a drastic turn for the worse. They could not detect Aria’s heart beat, so they broke Abi’s water. In which they found meconium. In this moment we heard the words no parent ever wants to hear, “you need a C-Section now or your daughter will not survive”.
After the procedure, Aria was purple and not responding. They resuscitated her and began other procedures. Ryan was able to see her briefly before she was transferred to Blank Children’s Hospital.
Aria has been fighting for her life since then. She is now at the University of Iowa Hospital NICU. She is in critical condition, but our little girl is in God’s hands and He is giving her the strength to hold on. Since being at this hospital she is showing much improvement.
With this page, we will keep everyone updated on her progress.  We know so many people love and care for our sweet little girl and we are so grateful. We ask that you partner with us in prayer. Our God is a God of wonders and can do anything.
We pray that throughout all of this journey, He will be glorified.
