Archer’s Story

Site created on November 9, 2020

An arrow hit the bullseye when sweet baby Archer Christopher Auer arrived on Friday morning, November 6th! Although mom and dad anticipated his birth may come a bit early, severe complications turned into critical worry when it was discovered he had developed Gastroschisis in utero, along with other serious struggles with his underdeveloped lungs.  Anna, Chris and big sister Eleanor appreciate your prayers and thoughts as they navigate through this unforseen journey.

Journal entry by Susie Valentine

It's been a bit since we've updated CaringBridge. Given the last few days, being home and getting settled, we can all feel good knowing that healing is happening in the Auer house, in bodies, hearts and minds! Since Archer's latest surgeries (one planned, one unplanned), it seems corrective measures have certainly helped his little body. Did it do the trick? Time will tell. His Mic-Key button is on place, so feedings are still happening via tube. His small intestine seems to be mended with everything else doing what it should. As things progress, we will keep you posted. Right now, CAN I GET AN AMEN?! 🙏❤️🥰
