Anton’s Story

Site created on July 26, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.

Anton was diagnosed with type-3 Medullobastoma when he was almost 4 years old. He spent much of 2021 in the hospital and was in remission until June 2022 when new tumors were found. The main tumor was successfully removed, and Anton was prescribed a regimen of daily full-brain and spine radiation and daily chemotherapy for 6 weeks in Atlanta. After that, he will continue with outpatient chemotherapy back home in Nashville.

We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Journal entry by Tanner Plauché

Anton is almost done with his treatments in Atlanta!

Last week was a long week. Anton has been getting more tired, needed more time to wake up and recover from radiation, and has been exhibiting more of the side effects of his treatment. His scalp and the back of his head is often itchy and the skin scratches off easily, so he has lots of little scratches and scabs. His blood platelets are low, so he bleeds a bit more and bruises easily. He’s got lots of bruises on his arms and legs because he still likes to run around and play.

We spent Labor Day weekend in Peachtree City, GA with family. Anton got to play with cousins and go in golf cart rides, and Tanner got to go fishing with his dad. On Sunday we took a long drive down to pine mountain, dowdell’s knob, and a new park in Fayetteville, which Anton loved.

We are all looking forward to being home.
