Journal entry by Brian & Rita Waldron —
We were able to bring Anthony home from Mayo late yesterday. Our family would like to thank each and everyone of you for your abundance of prayers. Anthony is doing well. He slept well last evening, which he really needed. During Anthony's Mayo hospital stay, he did not sleep very much. He kept looking around the room during the night and pointing to one sign in particular on the wall. The sign said, "STOP call for help avoid Falls." I couldn't help but wonder if he was thinking about his work at Alliant Energy (smile). Anyhow, I had to do something I would normally not do....I took the sign off the wall, so he would go to sleep. A mother's got to do, what a mother's got to do! Ha!
The back of Anthony's head, were large incision is, has been swollen today, along with his right ear. His pain level is minimal (at least he doesn't express any), and we have been able to help him with just Tylenol. We did some stretching exercises today, other than that Anthony has been resting and taking it easy.
If we could please, we ask that you continue to pray for Anthony. We do not know what the future holds, but we do know we just want to 'live for today' as each of us should, and enjoy what God has put before us. Anthony is strong both in faith and strength, and he will continue to fight strong. We will return to Mayo in a couple weeks for check-up and suture removal. PLEASE pray that the surgery performed this past week will help Anthony to walk, talk, use arm and hand, and improve his cognition.
Again, our deepest gratitude! THANK YOU! We love each of you dearly.
