Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Ann.

As Ann's family, we are using this forum to keep family and friends updated in one place.

Ann was injured in a car accident on Wednesday, May 8, 2019.  She is making progress and we welcome your prayers and healthy, happy thoughts.

Our goal will be to update this page to let you know her great progress.

Dear Friends,

It is Ann's birthday today. A day to reflect on 2019 and anticipate good things for 2020. It was about eight and half months ago that Ann's world changed forever on an ordinary day on her drive to work.

As you know, she has been on a difficult journey. Sometimes her life was hanging basically by only the tiniest bits of hope and prayer and patience. Through the outstanding care she received from the hospitals, rehab facilities and medical professionals committed to the best possible outcome, and through your support with prayers and cards, and visits and help with Mick our family, have we all been able to get through this. Thank you, God.

Ann had been home since the end of September. Even that is almost unbelievable. Frankly, it was very difficult for awhile. Even the seemingly most insignificant act, how to hold a fork, how to put your body and your walker in the direction you want to be headed, how to shop online (on my....LOL), were tasks, behaviors, and sequences that took planning, remembering, processing, and critical thinking. We were all exhausted for awhile.

Yet, through Ann's unwavering commitment to regain what was lost; her desire to do things for herself; and her steadfast work at practicing and working with her therapists; she has made remarkable recovery. She is not yet where she wants to be in her recovery, but we are all thanking God, and our community of support for her amazing progress.

We have started a Go Fund Me page to help with expenses associated with her continuing therapies and recovery. Also, to help with some time off for Mick, her primary caregiver. We encourage you to donate to the fund.

And, since it is Ann's birthday, also, take a moment today to wish her a Happy Birthday!! :)
