Ann’s Story

Site created on May 21, 2019

Welcome to Ann King's  CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Ann was diagnosed with stage 3B Lung Cancer in April of 2019.   Mama has a tumor on her windpipe, one over heart area and place in lungs.   The PET scan showed No Brain Cancer, Praise the Lord!   Ann  is receiving treatment at Emory Winshape Cancer Center in Atlanta, Ga.    As of now, Mama  has labs at 7:45 am, then several hours of Radiation everyday  and one day a week of Chemo.  Treatments will continue until the 18th of June as of now.

Anyone who knows my mom knows she never complains and worries about putting others out.  My mom continued to teach right up to the last weekend before her treatment began.   We are all very positive that Mama can beat this.     My Aunt Carol and my brother Todd have been with  mama for several weeks now.  We are all taking turns  so she can get the best care that she deserves.

If you would like to send a card please mail to Ann King in care of Savannah Willis at 4639 Manor Drive, Gainesville, Ga. 30506.   Mama is spending the weekends at (granddaughter)  Savannah's home in Gainesville.

Thank You all for caring,

Newest Update

Journal entry by Kathy Berry

Hello Friends of Ann,
It has been awhile since anyone has updated so today is the day! Ann is still living with her granddaughter Savannah and her husband Brian in Gainesville Georgia. They have really been a blessing and tremendous help even with their busy busy schedules.  Ann has been released from physical therapy and has climbed the staircase to the top floor around 4 times.  She looks great and seems like the old Ann. Her hair is returning darker than it left!!  She still goes to Emory every other week for immune therapy.   She just had a scan which showed no growth and no new cancer PTL. Also, would you believe Ann has not had a single Sundrop soda since April 2019! She is soda free, ha ha. Sugar is a no no, and Ann has really been changing her eating habits. Ann pretty much does everything for herself except for cooking and driving. Our family thanks you all for the comments and prayers left on Ann's behalf.  Thank you all.
