Journal entry by Annette Crump —
Dear friends,
If you are still following my journal entries, I decided that I should close this journal nine months after it started. What a journey it has been.
Wednesday of this week I had my 4 week checkup with my surgeon. I pretty much got the all clear. And the only thing left to do is let time heal the scars.
The cancer is gone, my body got an overhaul, and hopefully this is my last round with breast cancer. This time around I have been commiserating with my closest neighbor, a high school friend and a college friend, all of us going through this at the same time.
The statistics are 1 in 8 women in their lifetime. Right now it feels like more. I pray that these other friends of mine have the best of outcomes, and are as lucky as me at the end of their respective journeys.
Thanks you all for all the love and support. For all the well wishes. For all the cards and flowers. For the delicious meals that were delivered. It has meant the world to me.
I am starting a new role this fall with Komen Los Angeles as a member of their Leadership Council. So my work there is not done. And I'm captain of a team for the 2021 More Than Pink Walk in September. Fundraising for Komen has become my super power over the 19 years I have been dealing with breast cancer. Many of you have already contributed this year. If you haven't, and you would like to, here is the link, you know what to do -

So grateful for you all.
