Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.

Hello everyone. It's been a whirlwind week. Mom got home from the hospital yesterday after 3 nights there. One kidney for 10 years. Parkinson's for about the same. Both diseases have progressed very slowly. Covid in December with almost no symptoms. Those Messmers are pretty incredible! She's having trouble swallowing and went into the hospital with severe dehydration. The many trips to the doctor and constant bloodwork have taken their toll. Tom, Diane and I have been a village. We are extremely lucky to have each other and such supportive family and friends. My very good friend set us up with Apreva Hospice. It's a relief to know that Mom is home with Dad and guess what? We get to visit them at their apartment now!! This is fantastic! 9 decades is a long time to be on this earth so I think we should be thankful for all of that time and not dwell on what the near future will be like.

Update on services.  So far all we have is Mom will be mentioned in April 4th Bulletin (Easter) for St. Gregory the Great.  We will also have a mass for mom at St. Gregory on Saturday July 24th at 5pm.  

Seems everything is delayed due to covid.  

As soon as we get the burial info from Miramar National Cemetery I’ll let you know.  Looking to be mid May.
