Site created on September 8, 2018

Anna is a 16 year old junior at St. Joseph-Ogden High School, where she is on the volleyball, basketball, and track teams. She lives in St. Joe with her mom April, her sister Lili, and her dog Georgia. On August 30, 2018, Anna was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma after being in the Children's Hospital of Illinois in Peoria for 7 days.  She is receiving her treatments at the Children's Hopital/St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.

Journal entry by April Grant

Anna and I arrived back in Peoria on Thursday 9/6. She had a lot of blood work done, which took quite a while, so her chemo treatment was postponed until Friday. Friday afternoon, she began her first day of treatment, which took about 5 hours. She also received treatment today for about 3 hours, and will finish up one more Sunday. We hope to be released tomorrow after chemo has been completed. We will return twice a week for the next two weeks to check blood counts. Then the 3 week cycle starts over, and we expect to do 5 cycles total.   Anna is handling everything very well - she knows God is good! She plans on winning this battle, just like her favorite Cub, Anthony Rizzo!
