Journal entry by Anna Tracy —
Okey dokey. Finished oral chemo last month. Took a camping road trip to celebrate. The side effects have almost all cleared up. Feet are still having some issues, but generally speaking so much better.
Today I’m having my final reconstruction surgery. I cannot wait to get these tissue expanders removed. It’s no fun to have non-stretchy things sewn into your chest muscles.
Which means I’m sort of done with the majority of the treatment. I will still need to do daily pills, monthly shots and twice yearly infusions. But all things considered I can start to get back to my “normal” life. Whatever that means in a pandemic.
I’m looking forward to the pain killers and binge watching movies while I recover from this final surgery.
Take care and go get a mammogram or colonoscopy or whatever other monitoring your doctor suggests.
Love to all!
