Journal entry by Ann Anaya

On November 28th, I rang the bell to celebrate my last day of chemotherapy treatment.  On December 2nd I rang the bell to celebrate my last day of Radiation Therapy.  I was so concerned I wasn’t going to be able to make it through but with the help of some very special people - Bill, mainly, my daughter Emily and her husband Marcus and my 2 sons Andy (Nicole) and Matt - along with the entire Oncology and Radiation Therapy team at the University of Chicago I did make it through.   Since that time I’ve been home recovering. Days are long and sometimes nights are longer, but slowly and surely I am going to crawl back up the hill to regular health.   Tests will not be done for 12 weeks to find out the final results but nothing obvious has turned up to make the team think it didn’t work.   Thank you all for your kind words of love and support.  Trust me, they do so much for the soul.
And so, here we are at our Holiday time! Another year to celebrate with family and friends near and far.   Seasons’ Greetings and Happy New Year!  Let us have 2023 bring a new year of Peace, Love, Joy and Good Health to all 🍾🎄🕎🥂
