What a difference 3 days can make! Stacie shared this post today:
Cancer treatment can destroy cancer cells as well as healthy, infection-fighting white cells. Anna’s AML and treatment have caused a myriad of side effects and come with risks of infection. The infections can be more serious and harder to treat than they normally would. Anna began feeling bad in the wee hours yesterday and went to the ER. She is fighting some infection now. They transferred her to Emory University Hospital and she was admitted to ICU. With this department’s intensive care, they are able to monitor her blood pressure and oxygen levels because they were very low. Unfortunately, Anna is in a lot of pain so the team is feverishly working to find the measures that work best to keep her comfortable while the antibiotics do their job.
Anna is so incredibly strong and determined to beat this thing. We so appreciate all the prayers, visits and unwavering support. It means so much to all of us.
