Angi’s Story

Site created on December 1, 2019

Welcome Angi's CaringBridge site.  This is a memorial to a friend the depths of which is known to each individual. Throughout the latter part of her life, her focus was on the POSITIVE, and HEALING. Spiritually, as a community activist, as a friend and neighbour. Much to celebrate and be grateful for.

There are updates on here when something's good to post. Feel free to contribute.

Journal entry by Martin Belk

Two years ago, in these waning hours, we gathered online from around the world for one last chat, hug and whisper with you. I know you could hear us all, and you were clearly at peace. Then, the phone rang, with that distinct tone around 2am. I knew.

Two years on, and your presence is still felt, all the time. I've heard even more stories, found more clues to your curious life. You were anything but boring. Recently, a kindred emerged to help when I needed it most - another one of your comrades in the good fight. The timing, and instance is not lost on me. I felt you were right there. Higher Power moment, like we used to say.

For some reason, the first year is still a kind of suspended state to me. The second, is the acceptance, and gratitude as best we can. You used to tell me that: 'acceptance is the key'. It's a gentle work in progress.

Like so many others, what I wouldn't give for one more time with my dear friend Angi, com eto your house, sit while you show me the million new things you've made. But, like the piece I read in your honour:

"Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was." Absolutely.

love and peace to you and all our dear friends, families of origin and families of choice

Martin

ps. Still keeping your wishes: no pastel flowers :)
