Angie’s Story

Site created on April 30, 2019

Angie Scott lives in Omaha, NE with her husband Kyle Scott and two loving, adorable kitties Max and Ruby. She has been a massage therapist for 20 years and a PTA for 13 years. During that time she has helped so many people and is known for her sweet, caring nature as a healer and caregiver. She has built a strong bond with many of her patients over the years. On April 1st, 2019 she was given some hard news with a cervical cancer diagnosis. It was caught early and a treatment plan was put swiftly into motion, so we are very optimistic and hopeful. It's time for Angie to focus on healing herself for a little while and time for others to be caregivers for her. Thank you for visiting her Caring Bridge site and we encourage you to follow as we post updates on her treatment and progress. Thank you so much for your support!

Journal entry by Kyle Scott

Though Angie’s scans were all-clear, the oncologist informed us today that after consulting with the surgeon and the other oncologists, they want to do two more rounds of chemo. The doctors said this was standard treatment for this type of more rare and aggressive cancer to really make sure they get it all.

In the very beginning we were told that treatment would consist of 4-6 rounds of chemo, and possibly radiation. Then when it came time to get started we were told 4 rounds of chemo and 28 days of radiation. It's a little disappointing that it had not been made more clear that the chemo could possibly be extended to 6 rounds, but we didn’t learn until yesterday that it would definitely be the next step in her treatment. Part of this decision was how well she made it through the first 4 rounds. She will start this round (her fifth) of chemo on Monday morning.

While this is certainly frustrating news, we’re staying focused on the fact that the scans were clear and staying strong for this last bit of the fight. Thank you to everyone for your love and support.
