Angie’s Story

Site created on September 21, 2018

Welcome to our Caring Bridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Please see the journal to read Angie's journey since her diagnosis.  Overall, Angie has  done tremendously well.  Her attitude  and outlook on life has had a huge impact on her progress.  Through the grace of God she has hit every goal and surpassed many expectations.   Her journey has not been easy but it never took her spirit and will to be happy.

We have created a signup calendar for meals to help Angie through the first month at home.  She will go home on Thursday, October 4th.  If you are interested in the sign up sheet, click on the "Ways to Help" link and then "Planner".
We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Journal entry by Angie Haunschild

Angie did great after stem cell transplant. Not much sickness compared to what could have been, so thankful. After transplant she had to wait for her blood count (white cells) to begin engrafting. Once engrafting began she needed to hit 500. Day 1 she was at 10, then day 2 was 280 and today was 880!  Hallelujah!  The goal was to hit 500 after day 1 of engrafting. Everything has gone as well as could be expected throughout this process. Angie will get her port out tomorrow and will be released to go home on Thursday, October 4th! She is beyond excited and so thankful for everyone’s love and prayers. Now home to rest for the next month. Any visitors at home will need to wear masks and no activity for Angie. No cleaning, laundry, cooking, standing, etc. This next month is to regain strength and build immunities as right now she has zero. Please feel free to reach out by a phone call, text, card or visit. There is a sign up on this site for meals if anyone is interested and I will put her address on here if anyone needs it for cards, visits, etc...
Thanks to everyone for your love and prayers!  💗
