Journal entry by Angie Caro

On February 8, 2021, I was diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma at 40 years of age. Caught during my first ever mammogram, followed by a second mammogram, ultrasound, and ultimately a biopsy. I felt my world broke into a million piece when Dr Williams-Olango informed me!! I will never forget that I was alone, due to COVID, and being so afraid with the results, and not having anyone there to hold me tight!! I left her office in tears, sat outside to breathe, cried to my car, and weeped like never before once I was inside my car!! I then called a few people and asked my sisters, Steven and Mari to go to mom and dads to inform them! Later that evening I informed Abel and Andrew.
