Mama had her 3rd chemo yesterday. They did have to adjust her dose after the 1st round because it was depleting her platelets. The new dose seems to be better and her platelets are back on the rise. 

On the flip side, early indicators are that the chemo is not as immediately impactful as we hoped. Her CA-125 (tumor markers) jumped 120 points after the first treatment and another 55 points after the second. Additionally, the fluid in her pleural space continues to accumulate at a rate faster than ever. She continues to get a Thoracentesis every two weeks and in the past 6 weeks, they drained 900 ml, then 925ml two weeks later and then 975 ml today. 

Because of these two things, her doctor at MD Anderson has decided to see her back after 4 treatments instead of 6. She will return to Houston on June 17th for scans and to discuss any changes needed in her treatment plan.
