I just got home from a whirlwind trip for my 6 month surgery follow up down in Florida at Mayo Clinic a few minutes ago! I met with my neurosurgeon, my ENT surgeon, my endocrinologist, had labs and an MRI! Long day BUT it was the best day!! Not only do my labs look great…my MRI is gorgeous!! All of my doctors are extremely pleased with my progress, labs and scans! I got to see two of my doctors together (Dr. Q - my neurosurgeon and Dr. Samson - my endocrinologist) and both of them asked if I would allow them to write up my case to publish in a medical journal. They couldn’t stop talking about how incredible yet perplexing my case was and the complexity of the entire journey kept baffling them until they got into my brain and were able to get the pathology back! All three drs had never seen this in any of their years practicing!! I guess I’m unique 😜Dr. Q also is the head of the neurosurgery department and he asked me if I’d be willing to speak at one of his conferences…what?!? I said I’m not sure what I have to say that would be beneficial to tons of brilliant physicians?!? They both thanked me for being so strong, enduring such pain, advocating for myself even with all the road blocks and ultimately trusting them to perform the surgery! I  am grateful God lead us to Mayo Clinic. I am grateful Adam reached out to Dr. Q after 6 other extremely brilliant neurosurgeons said that it wasn’t the tumor and they would not do surgery! I am grateful for this team of drs who kept digging, thinking outside of the box and questioning how they could help me!! God orchestrated each piece together perfectly and in His time. 

I am feeling almost 100% back to the normal Angela 🙌🏽🙌🏽 I did have a minor setback in November with I minor car accident that left me with a concussion and then contracted Covid on Christmas Eve. Even with those two issues I’m feeling better and better everyday! The only other lasting issue I’m currently dealing with is my blood sugars and thyroid levels  seem to be off slightly. Dr. Samson cleared this up by saying my body had been under extreme stress, chronic pain and a constant infection and inflammation for TWO YEARS which will cause your body to react. Mine needed more insulin and synthroid to counteract my new “old” normal! Dr. Samson decreased my insulin and synthroid doses in order to hopefully get me back to a more normal state. I’m constantly amazed how our bodies adjust and regulate to things. That’s it in a nut shell!! I couldn’t be more excited if I tried!! My whole medical team and I hugged and cried happy tears discussing this amazing journey!! The BEST part…I don’t have to go back for another follow up for one whole YEAR!!! Hallelujah!! Thankful for all of your love, support, prayers and love through out the last few years!! It’s been quite a wild ride. So grateful for a God who always catches us regardless of the situation. HE is the great physician and I’m so eternally grateful for His guidance, love and provision. Love to all!!
