1968 was a year for the record book! It was the height of the muscle car, the Mustang, Chevelle, Camaro, and corvette would later come to represent the golden era of Detroit. It was a year of civil unrest, the United States was engaged in a very unpopular war in South East Asia, violence plagued our streets and our cities. 1968 was the year of two very high profile assassinations, people were angry, disillusioned, and for the most part, forgotten. But 1968 also was a year of great accomplishment, and a future hope.
December 24 Apollo 8, the introduction of the 747, and unforgettably Star Trek lit up the television screens in millions of homes across this great land.

Born on August 13 in 1968 in a small town in Ohio, the much anticipated and loved daughter of Vickie and Dean Holland, she was born like many of us, into a hard working middle class family who had dreams bigger than life itself. After an unfortunate divorce, she spent most of her formative years in Houston Texas where she graduate from the University of Houston in 1992. Across the country a young man who would later become her husband, was just entering his second year of Bible college in Eugene Oregon.
Shortly after she completed ultra sound school in the late 90s she moved to Portland Oregon to be close to her brother and his family, and as fate or rather providence would have it, one Sunday morning in a college and career group in her local church, she met the man that she would spend her life with.
In 2001 shortly after the attack on the twin towers, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who’s inseparability has been undeniable since her birth.
Today as I write, this woman that we have all come to love and adore so much, struggles each day with a very rare Sarcoma. Her passions and her loves have not changed. She is undeniably committed to Christ, her family, and her friends. And we continue to pray for peace, health, and for God’s Kingdom to come, and His will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
