Journal entry by Angela Cave

One year. It's been a year today. The day I met my awesome Breast Surgeon and Oncologist for the first time. The day I found out I had Stage 3B Grade 3 Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. The day I found out that I would find out the plan...16 rounds of Taxol Carbo and trial drug, 4 rounds of red devil, a double mastectomy, 28 radiation sessions, physical therapy, expander fills, 8 rounds of Xeloda oral chemo and exchange surgery. I was told on 5/7/19 that it would be a year long process and now it's going to be beyond a year but it's almost finished. Only 3 more rounds of Xeloda and exchange surgery. Throughout it all I had the best chemo nurses, breast surgeon, oncologist, radiation team and plastic surgeon. More importantly I had the most amazing support system...my mom who went to every chemo, every doctors appointment and took care of me and the boys after surgery. My amazing work family who made chemo not so boring by showing love and support for every single chemo day and having my back when I couldn't do it anymore physically. To our clients (aka my friends) who showed extreme support, care, love, understanding and patience. The amount of cards and prayers were unbelievable. I've always had a positive "kick it" attitude throughout and it was easy to keep that positive attitude with such a huge support system. Thank you for helping me fight through it this past year. I couldn't have done it without all of you by my side. ❤ OK, horrible no make up picture but I'll share my hair growth to date. I can't wait for it to start laying down. Not sure why it grows straight up and out. That too will end one day but not soon enough. At least I have eyebrows and lashes now. 😝
