John’s Story

Site created on May 12, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Pastor John R. Butcher Sr. has been a TRUE soldier in shouldering the blessed burden of idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy. Blessed because through the often life-threatening symptoms of his condition, he has grown immense intimacy with the Father. And while he wouldn’t trade what he has gained through this journey, it is admittedly a burden on his natural body.

Anyone who knows Pastor John knows that he and his beautiful wife, Pastor Kaiya, have dedicated their lives to seeing God do the miraculous for others, and now the time has come for God to do the miraculous for them!

Pastor is currently waiting and in final processes to receive a NEW HEART!!!

As his family and loved ones, we want to make sure he, Pastor Kaiya and the entire Butcher family is COVERED in prayer; prayer for sustained physical, emotional and spiritual strength, prayer for the physicians and medical staff tending to them, prayer for the donating individual and his/her loved ones - there is NO SUCH THING as ‘too much prayer’, so lay hold of Heaven on his behalf.

We’ve created this page so we can keep everyone that loves Pastor John updated on his progress along the way. The God of Miracles is also our Faithful, Loving Father and we know that Pastor John’s life is in His more than capable hands. We ask that you rejoice and intercede with us as we see the goodness of God unfold.

Journal entry by Ginny Davis

By now we are sure that most of you have heard the GREAT NEWS that Pastor John has received his new heart!  While we are all rejoicing that he has received the PERFECT match, we must not relent in our prayers.  There is still a long journey ahead, and we are committed to pray until the miraculous healing is complete!  Here are the things we are specifically praying and standing in agreement for:
  1. Pray for unrestricted blood flow throughout Pastor's entire body.
  2. Pray for every system and organ to wake up and work together honoring the other.
  3. Pray for the doctors/medical team and staff work under the guide of the Holy Spirit.
  4. Pray for Pastor John's life to be a testament and an example of God's goodness and forgiveness to all.
  5. Declare outside of the box thinking for his best care.
  6. Pray that the Great Shepherd uses his rod and staff for comfort, rest, protection, and guidance in this chapter of recovery (for our Pastors and for our church and community).
Is. 56:7 NKJV
Even them I will bring to My holy mountain,
And make them joyful in My house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices,
Will be accepted on My altar;
For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.
