12-8 Update

A word from Megan....
Check out the gallery for new photos!

Latest update...
Eloise came home November's 15th!! Things have been going really well at home with her. She is a really good baby 🍼.
She has been nursing 🤱 a lot more, which has been helping with my milk production.
She's been growing like a weed since she's been home too. At discharge, e weeks ago, she weighed 6lbs 9oz, about 19" long. As of Monday this week, she weighs 8lbs 5oz, 21 1/2"!!!
She loves to be snuggled!! And I'm pretty sure she's gotten very spoiled and used to being held. So we are working on not holding her as much.
Her sister Alyra is still in the hospital, enjoying all of the amazing nurses and doctors there.
She's a bit more like her Mom, and is just taking her sweet ole time coming home. She's making sure the water is just the right temperature before she swims.
She's been having some issues bottling. She tends to get tired easy and forgets to breathe. But this last week she has really shown major improvement and should be coming home with in the next week!!
We've been doing the back and forth to the hospital for a solid 3 months now, It's time for her to be home, and for the four of us to be together and be a family.
Other than the bottling, she's a champ!! She weighs 9lbs 2 1/2oz and is 22" long!!
They both have officially grown out of all of their Newborn clothes and are in 0-3 month clothes now.
The girls official due date was Tuesday of this week, December 4th.
I can't even imagine carrying these two to full term!!
Yikes!!! 😬🥴😵
Andy and I are figuring things out and finding our groove everyday with Eloise. And we'll do it all over again once lil Miss Alyra comes home.
We absolutely could not have done any of this without our absolutely amazing support system. I am so truly grateful for our parents especially and family and friends for all of the help and support they have giving us!!
We are so blessed!! Thank You 🙏🏻 to all of you!!

Awesome 10-21 update

Got this awesome update from Megan!

"They have been doing fantastic!!
Not much has changed other than they both are frowning big and strong 💪!!!
They are 33 weeks gestational age this week already and both of them continue to keep gaining weight everyday.
Eloise is up to 4.8lbs and Alyra is up to 5 lbs!!
Both of them are still on room air, but Alyra still is in need of a lo-flo cannula to remind her to breathe.
They both look just like their Daddy, in their own individual ways. "

Omg how great is that! Keep up the prayers they are working!

Update 10-9-18

Update time!!!!

Miss Alyra hit the 4lbs marker on Monday and has now upgraded to a crib!!

Lil Miss Eloise is not too far behind her "Little" sister either. She's weighing in at 3.10lbs today!!

They are both continuing to grow big and strong 💪.

Dad has been very busy getting the house organized and ready for these two angels to come home.

He has been so amazing throughout all of this!! Our house is really coming together.

Between getting the house in order, spending time at the hospital with the girls and hockey season starting back up, we are keeping very busy these days.

And let's not forget Pumping!!

This is a job all in itself!

Every 2 1/2 hours!! I wish I was producing more than I am, but I am so grateful that I am even producing at all. So any Liquid Gold produced, is money in the bank...Literally!!

Both Grandma Lynns have been absolutely wonderful in helping us with the house in clearing all of my stuff out and organizing everything!! And trust me, there is/was a lot of stuff to go through and organize!!

The last 2 weekends we have been blessed with so many gifts for the girls. Ive had 2 baby showers and have received so many wonderful gifts 🎁!!

We want to Thank Great Auntie Doddy, Great Auntie Cindy, Auntie Nat, and Cousaunt Dani for the stunning shower 2 weekends ago.

And we also want to give a big Thank You to Siobhan, Kimmie and Connie for this last weekends awesome shower with all the ladies!!

I had so much fun!!

Our next project is figuring out how we're gonna get all of it into the girls room now.

All in all...We are all doing great and the girls are getting fatter and keep progressing in a positive direction.

Words from Mama

October 1st
Lil Miss Alyra weighed in today at 3.7lbs!!
Back on her Hi-Flo Cannula and doing great.

October 2nd
Just talked to the doc, she said that she's pretty much waiting for a Twin room to open up in ICC for the girls so we can move them.

She said twin rooms are hard to come by, so if one opens up they’ll be moving!!

It’s very bitter sweet news, but they are absolutely moving in the right direction.

We are still shooting for around Thanksgiving-early December to be discharged and come home.

October 4th

9-29-18 update from Mama w/ pics of girls

Message from Megan:

"Both of them hit the 3lbs mark this week!!

Eloise graduated to a high flo cannula yesterday!!

Alyra went back on the Cpap on Wednesday because she was having a lot of spells and able to get back up
And breathing on her own.

So we gave her a rest with the cannula and she had not had a spell since!!

Doc says, depending on how the evening goes, she's planning on putting her back on the high flo cannula tomorrow.

Both girls had their 4 week follow up head scans on Friday and they both came back clear!! "

I don't have confirmation on this information but I believe Andy and Megan have started some sort of therapy to help them deal with all this cuteness from these two precious baby girls! Keep that info to yourself until I actually hear it straigh from Megan because I don't want to start rumors!! Haha I mean who wouldn't assume...right?
I don't know about you guys reading this but I can't wait to see these two ladies!!!!  Take a moment right now and speak strength, growth and protection over these baby girls and Andy and Megan!!!!

The Girls Are Here! Eloise James and Alyra Lynn

Hello this page was created my me, Connie, Megan’s friend to keep you all updated on her Andy and the girls!  I’m excited to be apart of this journey and share their story!

Thursday Aug 30th Megan suspected her water broke at about 10 pm and they went to Children’s immediately. They confirmed her water did break and that she should expect to be in the hospital for 2 months, and not to GO ANYWHERE! The next morning Megan began to feel slight contractions, they subsided throughout the day and then by 5pm they came back again and they were every 7 to 9 min and about a 4-5 intensity they by 7 they got to a 6-7 and then at 9pm they were at a 9 and coming every 3-5 mins and it WAS ON! At his point Megan was dilated to a 6 and the doctor decided it was time to GO! Andy managed to pack up 2 months worth of goods in just 10 min which impressed Megan greatly! Immediate family arrived and there was concern in the air, however Megan stayed cool calm and collected despite the fact that her dad showed up white as a ghost!  She just knew everything was going to be ok and she managed to calm the nerves of others with her laugh and energy :) They got into the OR room at 11:11pm on August 31st and they were planning for both births to be vaginal. She had her first contraction to push and she managed to get Eloise in her birth canal. The second contraction she pushed 3 more time and she crowned. Then she delivered this little ball of fire on 3rd contraction. Eloise came out at 11:52pm screaming balling arms flailing and completely over being in mom, this little girl was ready to be apart of our world and had no desire to wait! Alyra was breech so the doc had to go and grab her by the feet. She arrived at 11:58pm! They were born on the same day by 2 mins! Eloise was 2.2lbs and 14.5 inches long Alyra was 2.12lbs and she was 15.25 inches.

Eloise is the big little sister who is a firecracker! Megan said,  “Every one of her nurses that has ever worked on her has said that she is so feisty, which is awesome because they need to be fiesty when they are in the NICU!”

As of 9-22 here is how we are doing….

“They girls are amazing. They are doing great, their progress is great!”

Eloise is 2.8lbs. She is on a CPAP for her breathing and she is doing amazing with that. Her lungs were just a little bit smaller and needs some extra help.

Alyra is 2.14lbs and is on a high flow nasal cannula. She got quite bruised from the delivery but is healing well! Sometimes she has spells where she forgets to breathe but all week long she has been able to come back out on her own without being reminded by a nurse or mom.  She looks just like her father. Megan said “She has a stink face and she look just like her daddy” Megan said that she is not being bias but they have the most beautiful hands and feet she has ever seen and “they are going to be pianist, they need to play the piano or the violin”

Megan is producing liquid gold (breast milk) which they are drinking along with some protein supplementation. They are also getting VitD, sodium and Iron.  They are both off TPN and digesting their food well. They are off the UV lights no more jaundice. Mom and babies had a bath date on Saturday! Megan and Andy see the girls daily and do kangaroo cares :)

The doctor this week said that she likes to end her day with the girls because they are her grand finale of the day, and they are the angles on the floor!!!

Keep all the thoughts and prayers coming and lets help get these girls home with mom and dad!!! 🙏

Make sure you go to the photo section to see these little miracle babies in action!
