Andria’s Story

Site created on January 4, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

On December 17th, we found out that what we had thought was a bad infection from breastfeeding was actually cancer. A week later we learned that it is invasive ductal carcinoma, triple negative, Stage 3 breast cancer . We have had a lot of other diagnostic work that has come back clear, which is a huge blessing.  We know that the cancer is in the right breast and a couple of lymph nodes close by but no where else.

Treatment will start on January 9th and include 2 phases of chemo that will last 4-5 months. Surgery 4-6 weeks later. Radiation 4-6 weeks later. There could be some additional steps but that will be determined through the treatment process.

God has surrounded us by you and created an army of prayers, encouragement, help and love. During this emotional time, we have great times of peace that can only be given by God.  Thank you for all your prayers, encouragement and care. It means the world to us right now!

And for the next while here...our motto is #peaceoutcancer

Journal entry by Geoffrey Freeman

Hi everyone,

It is hard to believe we are 6 weeks out from losing Andria, the sting of pain is still fresh in all of our hearts and we haven't ventured a day without tears. Nonetheless, the outpouring of support for the playground, memorial and wonderful comments, cards and gifts remain to brighten our dark moments.

There is one thing I must ask, even plead with you for: memories. We have been blessed with several contributions to "Andria's story", but I'm asking you for more. No tidbit is too small.

Please, please, please...spend a minute of your time today to write a quick note to rememberingandria@gmail.com.

If you're reading this, I'm really hoping you'll jump in with a note. Even if it is a story that I, or one of Andria's friends or family, shared with you. Even if it was a simple thing Andria said or did in a text message. Even if [insert your reason here].

A memory, a thought, a feeling...whatever it is that drove you to follow her story is enough to share with our kids.

Thank you so much for making this project come to life for Sage, Tate and Tuck.
