August 9, 2020 - Time at home
Anders is moving about the house really well. And he is walking more and more without his cane. Tonight, he cleaned up the kitchen after dinner. He is very pleased to be able to contribute to the household again- it's very sweet.
He will go for his last cisplatin/doxorubicin infusion on Wednesday. Cisplatin is the drug that makes him very nauseous and causes his counts to crash. This is also the drug that he needs the hearing protection infusion for- that's the infusion that made Anders so terribly sick last cycle when he got it the first time. Thank goodness, it's the last time he'll get it. His hearing test on Friday showed a tiny bit of change in upper frequencies. He's been blessed so far to not have lost much hearing, though his oncologist says it can occur for a number of years following treatment.
We are managing to enjoy this beautiful summer, in spite of all the hospital stays, etc. We hope you are, too!
