Amy’s Story

Site created on November 5, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

My breast cancer story started in October with a pretty routine mammogram. After many tests, I’ve been diagnosed with multifocal stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, both triple negative, grade 3. I had a bilateral mastectomy 11/17. Additional treatments will be chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

Our family has been showered with an outpouring of love and support. We so appreciate all of you.

Journal entry by Amy Sexton

Today I had my port removed and reconstruction completed. All went well. Thankful that I wasn’t turned away again. Thankful I’m home recovering. Thankful that the pain is nothing like mastectomy pain. And thankful for Sean who’s taking great care of me.

Onward and upward!
Love, Amy
