Newest Update

Journal entry by Amy James

Hello ... Family and Friends..   UPDATE ❤️           It’s been  Awhile.   8 months back , last Spring.. I finished the brutal part of my cancer battle. The big surgery that ended my chemo, radiation and all the other smaller surgeries and treatments. I don’t remember a lot , but I do remember your SUPPORT and PRAYERS and I believe that’s a huge part of how I’m still here today. 🥰💗 Thank You.  I’ve been recovering inside and out. Learning to live a somewhat new normal.  I love that I just saw another Christmas! And... My hair is growing back.  LIKE 1985 right now 🤣 but it’s My hair.
The really GOOD NEWS....  After 2 follow up CT scans... that were CLEAR and ALL lymph nodes GOOD... and multiple labs later.. On CHRISTMAS EVE my oncologists at UT Southwestern Actually said the words ... “ YOU ARE CANCER FREE!”    I had stage 3 b  adenocarcinoma Stomach Cancer with involved esophagus.  It was an aggressive cancer and the odds and the fight have been equally Ugly.  But! Here we are.  Here I am 😊.  I’m so very thankful and grateful to be able to finish some life here.  God has been good to me. Always faithful and sustaining me through every step. My life  looks Absolutely Nothing like what I had planned or even hoped it would.
But, it’s the Life I have! And I’m VERY happy to have it! And to make it as Beautiful and Wonderful and Simple and Lovely as I possibly can.  It really is a gift.  And to those of you who know me well... Know that I identify much more with the woman at the well than the Virgin Mary! So I am beyond humbled that the Lord has seen fit to give me Another shot at this life.   ✝️
So, Thank you to my sweetest friends and family who have stuck with me... my mom who has been my driver 1000 times ( a few brushes with death in the Highlander just to spice things up 😳) and my second set of ears!  AND A LOT to my brother Adam Owen , who has kept me laughing literally LOL. and looking up through it all.
Looking forward to running my race well.  Slower.... but well.
    Blessings,
Amy   ❤️
