Amy’s Story

Site created on October 25, 2019

Scott is continuing to heal from his surgery and we feel relieved to have his challenging post-surgery days behind us. Unfortunately, we are facing yet another challenge---Amy has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  We have set up this Caringbridge site to keep friends and family updated on Amy's health status. On October 2nd Amy's annual mammogram discovered breast cancer. She followed up with more scans and a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. Amy has been busy with doctors appointments. Prior to surgery, the pathology and clinical diagnosis shows that she has Stage 2B cancer that is ER positive and at this time the MRI does not show abnormal lymph nodes.  She will have surgery on November 14th for the removal and then follow up surgery on the 20th for the beginning of reconstruction. After surgery we will find out if chemotherapy and/or radiation will be needed based on discovery of cancer cells in the lymph nodes and extensive testing of the entire tumor (s) once removed.  Thank you for your prayers, Amy and Scott

My last radiation treatment was today. I am burned and sore but otherwise feeling pretty good. I am so happy to have both chemo and radiation behind me and feeling blessed I was able to continue treatment during Covid-19.
It has been a long seven months. I have a few surgeries ahead of me still but I am so relieved treatment is over.
Thank you so much for all of your love and support. That is what got me through tteatment. Words cannot express how grateful we are for all the meals we received during my chemo---it was truly amazing!
I hope you all are enjoying your family time and staying healthy.
 Xoxo,
Amy
