Amelia’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

While being treated for Sclerosing Mesenteritis, an autoimmune disease Amelia has been fighting for several years, the doctors ran some tests. During the tests they found some abnormalities and she went in for a biopsy. On April 11th Amelia was Diagnosed with mesothelioma, cancer, unfortunately we do not have much information to share at this time. Amelia will be meeting with a surgeon to see if surgery is an option, if so it would be followed with chemo treatments. At this we are asking only for you all to keep Amelia and family in your thoughts and prayers. We are asking for privacy as she processes all of this. Information and/or updates will be shared as needed. If you have any questions please direct them to Dalia, Lupe, Delia, Celia or Dan.

Many of you already know but on behalf of our family we would like to inform you all that Amelia Moreno passed away today 11/25 at 6:20pm, she was surrounded by her family.  We have a little peace knowing that she is finally resting and is no longer suffering.  She fought a long hard fight and until the end continued to worry about those around her.  We love you little sister!   
We will post service arrangements in the days to come!  Thank you all for taking this journey with us!!
