Journal entry by Mark Payne

And this is now. Here she is with her S/O, Brandon, who’s stuck with her through it all, going above & beyond repeatedly. She’s 100 pounds lighter, 1 year sober, on her feet & still improving. She still has lingering issues from the accident, but as her doctors have said more than once, “She’s lucky to be alive, let alone up & walking.” A truly miraculous recovery, all things considered. Once again, I cannot express my gratitude to everyone who reached out and helped out during that trying time. Words of encouragement, thoughts, prayers, incantations, visits & especially those who’ve been through similar situations offering their support, insight & advice.

I love you forever, my firstborn, and I’m very glad everyone made me wait & give you a chance at recovery when I figured you were unsalvageable and suggested euthanasia that first week after the accident!

🤣😂🤣 😜

Gotta love me!!
