Newest Update

Journal entry by Amber Conlon

It’s been a little bit since I’ve posted an update on here. Since my last post I have seen my plastic surgeon and we will start to fill my expanders at the next appointment January 22! Yayy!! Finally feel like we’re making some progress here!! Also my sister gave me this silicon gel that is supposed  to help with scarring. It is the same stuff my doctor recommends to his patients and he says it’s the best! I have been using it for the past 2 days and can already tell a difference!

While we are on the topic of expanders I have been taking photos of my chest to show the progression of my scars healing. Attached are photos in order of what I have been through so far! Each row has a middle picture and a side view of each incision. Photos were taken about a week apart for the last couple of months.

I had my 3rd AC chemo this past Wednesday. My dad sat through this one with me. After switching to some nausea pre meds in the IV I haven’t been nauseous at all at home. One thing that is different this time is the bone pain! Holy moly! Everything on my body hurts to the touch and can be blamed on the neulasta on body injector. This is a side effect they warned about. Just think it’s weird how each treatment I have experienced different symptoms each time.

I also went in for genetic counseling at Sarasota memorial hospital yesterday to be tested on a full spectrum and to confirm the BrCA1 gene. That will take a few weeks to get the results back.

For now I am trying to rest and not move too much. Hopefully sleeping won’t be too bad tonight.
