Amanda ’s Story

Site created on June 24, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

It has been quite a couple of weeks! Amanda’s healing journey began on June 11 when she began experiencing upper gastrointestinal pain. On Monday June 14 she saw her PCP who ordered an ultrasound. The ultrasound led to a CT scan where they found a couple of masses and enlarged lymph nodes. Suspecting lymphoma, she had an EUS biopsy on June 16. The biopsy was positive for malignancy and she was referred to the University of Michigan For further analysis of what was suspected as T-cell lymphoma.

On June 23, she reluctantly came into ER at University of Michigan. While waiting for the UM referral and pathology, she was trying to tough it out (yes, our Amanda is tough AND stubborn). However after discovering new mass on her breast and generally not feeling well, she spent a long day in ER and received a new diagnosis - Adult AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia).

She will be receiving inpatient treatment for the next several weeks as she begins this journey. Classic Amanda, she is ready to fight this thing, is staying extremely positive, and is more concerned about everyone else than herself. ♥️

Family will post updates on this site to keep everyone informed. We are so grateful for all of your love, prayers and support. 🙏🏻♥️🙌🏻
