Journal entry by Kali Carter —
From Amanda's own words posted to her Instagram account 03/21/2020:
"Step one of beating cancer is complete!
The BEST news: my lymph nodes are clear meaning my cancer has not spread from the breasts into the lymphatic system. Thank you Jesus!
Pathology will fully confirm if any additional treatment is needed, but this is the best news we could ask for coming out of surgery.
Both surgeons have been by and are really happy with how I'm recovering so far.
Prayer requests: pain management. After fasting for anesthesia, I was unable to keep down my second dose of pills. They attempted morphine and I instantly got sick.
Thank you for all the prayers and support you've given my family. I'm truly humbled by the love and compassion we have been shown. You all keep telling me how strong I am, but your strong words are fueling my strength."
