Amanda is still in the ICU.  She is still on the ventilator.  Because of being on the ventilator and all of the pain she's in from the cancer in her bones, the doctors are basically keeping her in a medically induced coma most of the time.

The doctors agreed to allow her to begin chemotherapy on July 16th.  Apparently, it's very rare to administer chemotherapy to someone who is in the ICU, but the doctors have agreed to do it for Amanda because it may be the only chance for her to get better.  She is getting a low dose chemotherapy drug called Paclitaxel.  She was supposed to have her second chemotherapy treatment on July 23rd, but due to her white blood cell dropping too low, the doctors thought it would be too dangerous to give her a second treatment and wanted to wait and see if her white blood cell count would come up.  Her white blood cell count has started to rise over the past 3 days and we are hopeful that she will be able to get her second chemotherapy treatment tomorrow or on Tuesday at the latest.  Her immune system is still very compromised and if she gets her chemotherapy treatment this week, her white blood cells will likely drop again.  So, her doctors are still asking to keep visitors to a minimum right now.

I truly appreciate all the love and support from everyone. Amanda is fighting with everything that she has and I'm in awe of her strength and toughness.  Please continue to keep Amanda in your prayers.  Thanks again for all the love, support and prayers.
