Journal entry by Sarah Leach

We were in Indy for her appointment to have her staples removed. We will go back late week, next week for her to see the surgeon and infectious disease doctor. Fingers crossed for good news with both of them.
We are doing infusions 3x a day at home. It is getting easier. I was an absolute nervous wreck at first. Kayla, Heather,  Leah, Nikki have jumped on board to train on doing her infusions and meds, to help me out. Thank you girls sooo much. The commitment her friends have shown is amazing!! Amanda absolutely hates the infusions, she can taste the saline and antibiotics. Says it's horrible.  I do remind her how fortunate she is, and she does take it like a champ.
She does seem to be doing better this time. She still has a lot of headaches and sleeps quite a bit, but it seems different this time. I hope that means she is finally healing. I think we are both exhausted from the roller coaster ride we have been on!
Dutchman employees from all plants, banded together and donated to her. That was so awesome, she can pay some of her bills! Thank you so much Jenna and the Dutchman family!! I am learning to let go a little.  I am not in control. Anyone who knows me, knows that is incredibly hard for me. I think my life lesson in all this is to appreciate every day. I'm a planner, I tend to worry about the next thing, instead of celebrating today. I am slowly recognizing and adjusting. I know one thing is sure. I will look at things through different eyes when this is all over...
