Alyssa’s Story

Site created on July 9, 2018

Several teachers at Alyssa's school are interested in helping ease the stresses of a difficult surgery.  Here is her story. Thank you for your help in advance.
Friends of Alyssa

I am having a hysterectomy July 11th.  I did some genetic testing this spring since my mom died of breast cancer and my aunt died of ovarian cancer.  The results came back positive for the ovarian cancer gene and an ultrasound revealed a "simple" cyst on one of my ovaries.  Dr's want this removed right away.  After careful consideration, I have decided to have everything removed so I never have to worry about cancer in the lady parts again.

I know I'll be down for a while and I appreciate the offer of dinners for me and my family. Your thoughts and prayers are also appreciated.  I anticipate a quick recovery and I plan to go back to work in August.  We'll keep you posted on my progress.

Love to you all.
