I cannot begin to describe the grief we are going through. Believe me when I say, there is no pain like losing a child.
The only thing that is keeping me going right now, is hearing from people about how much Alyssa inspired them, and how much she was loved. Of course, Eric and I thought she was the most special person out there. How she handled herself through her cancer diagnosis, her bone marrow transplant, and all the god awful complications that just kept coming... she never complained. She never felt sorry for herself. She always believed that she would get better and live the life she was suppose have. She handled everything with such grace, strength and humor.
We are finding out, over the past few days, just how many people Alyssa touched. I want to hear about every one of them. You can email me (lcavanaugh922@gmail.com) or send to me at my home (10804 Meeting Street, Prospect Ky 40059). At some point, I’d like to put together a memory book, with all of her stories.
The articles and videos that have appeared since Saturday, have definitely helped us get through some of the worst parts of this.
Rest easy, my sweet, sweet girl. No more pain.
