Bob was a young farmer who lost a leg to cancer. He's past middle age now but years back I remarked to him that his leg never did grow back. He continued to farm but told me of so many instances where he has been called to reassure others that their lives will go on after amputations. He sees it as a new mission in his life to encourage and hold up those facing similar difficulties. Alyssa will too and she'll be good at it. Go gettem' Tiger but get well first.

Love this Les and she was put on your doorstep for a reason. The kindness of strangers, even "kooks" is sometimes what we all need more of and especially you all at this point in your lives. I will continue to believe that this is just a small blip in Alyssa's wonderful journey and you all are doing an amazing job. What a platform she has and what an inspiration she is being and will continue to be. Love you all!

Wow. Just wow. I wish she’d shared more abour seeing Heaven. I believe there are “angels” that walk among us and this may be one. I’m glad she brought you both comfort.

Leslie, what a wonderful story. We have been on a bit of a journey ourselves this holiday season, and the strength that Alyssa shows, her commitment to normalcy when nothing seems normal; her resolve in the face of adversity; your embrace of what must be and hope for what can be, has been a huge reassurance for us. Hearing it will be OK is an amazing gift . That lady was a modern day Magi from afar. I will hold on to that thought tomorrow at church. And be thankful for it.

I truly believe that God sends you what you need when you need it. Look at me and Steve. Who'd a thunk it. After the initial shock of hearing her diagnosis I have not really worried about it. I know she will be fine. She has always been a strong willed person and if she wants something she gets it. She is loved by every one she meets and has a way of leaving people thinking that they were glad they met. I love our Cavanaugh family and we are all here facing the future together. ❤️❤️❤️

Great story and I too believe what she was saying. But having living proof is a whole other thing. Love you all and am praying daily for whatever it is you need that God can provide. Keep the humor, it is always been a huge part who you are and A inherited it as well.

Leslie I think you missed your calling. When you were working you reminded everyone that you are PRACTICALLY a Doctor. I think your real calling was to be a writer. I love your post! In your most troubling hour you make others laugh. Hugs to you, E and especially Alyssa! You guys are doing an awesome job. Also, if you want anymore Kooks at your door....give me a call I'm available!

Thank you for sharing your story. I’m not much on coincidences but that God puts people in our path to help us along on our journey.
