Alyce’s Story

Site created on July 25, 2020

Hello friends.  Over the last several months, Mom (Alyce Jeanne/AJ), has not felt well.  She did not have energy or an appetite.  We all know that when Mom doesn't have energy to shop, cook or make cards, something is not right. On July 17 her general doc reviewed a CT scan and identified cancer.  After one consultation with an oncologist, we believe it is ovarian cancer.  There will be another CT scan and another referral soon.  We will use this site to keep people updated.

Anyone who is receiving this notification has probably received a hand made card from Mom.  Let's support Mom with cards and notes of encouragement.  Mailing address is Alyce Taylor - 1347 Pine Forest Dr.  Normal, IL  61761,   I am in Illinois in the next couple days/weeks.  If you need to get a message to me or Mom and Dad, you can email me at gatfisher@aol.com.

We all recently met at Kentucky Lake and made tie dye tshirts.  That is what Mom and Dad are wearing in the photo.  Thank you in advance for your prayers and support.   The Taylor Family

Team AJ Day of Service - All who are interested in serving in El Paso, IL on Saturday, arrive at Community Bible Fellowship at 8:30.  For those who want to stay at the church, we will make a few casseroles for people in the community.  We will also make cookies and package them for delivery. If we have enough people, we will write cards for each package of cookies that will remind them God loves them.

Another group will visit local residents and help clean yards.  There may be other outside projects.  Come prepared with work gloves and basic tools if you have them.

Please email Annie (cafehr83@gmail.com) or Gayle (gatfisher@aol.com) if you plan to come to Community Bible Fellowship on Saturday.  We will probably work until 1:30.  Bring your own drinks, snacks and lunch.

If you are not able to come to the church, please set aside some time wherever you are to do something good for someone else in your community. It might be calling someone who needs a friend, sending a card, planting flowers, donating clothes or food, paying for a meal for a stranger, etc,

Thank you for helping us honor and remember an amazing friend, mom, wife, grandma, sister, aunt and human!
