Dave, I too want to thank you for all of the updates that you did to let us know how Alpha was doing & what was happening next. That really meant a lot to me. I hope that you will continue letting me know what you, Joanna, & Jackie are doing. You & the girls are in my heart. Please let me know what I can do for you and the girls.

David, thank you for keeping us in the loop in regards to Alpha, the girls and yourself. I will miss reading about you and especially about Alpha on Caring Bridge. Congratulations on Jackie and Joanna's graduations! Friends and family and lots of activity helps you heal and I am happy that you are keeping busy. Dave, Bob and I really enjoyed Alpha's funeral service! I heard others say that this was the best service they had been to, and I agree with that. It was truly a celebration of Alpha's life! We all laughed and cried together. We will keep her alive in our warm thoughts of her.

I think that one or two week planning is just fine - there isn't too much need for longer planning for a while. It sounds like you have quite a few activities that will help you enjoy life. I see lots of traveling to South Carolina in your future!

David, thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings! On the outside when I see you at OLLI, you appear to be transitioning well and are taking greater steps toward sharing your musical expertise with others (like me!). However, this post reveals what you are really feeling and thinking about and I think it is useful and helpful for you to express yourself, which you do so very well! Many of us will experience what you are going through and I appreciate your ability to articulate how you feel, I know it will help to prepare me.
Congratulations to Joanna and Jackie for accomplishing another step toward their careers! It's a good sign that even without Alpha, the "glue" that helped the family to stick together, you are both moving on toward your life goals.

Dear Dave, Jo & Jackie,
Not a day goes by that I haven't thought about Alpha and you all. I miss her terribly. Dave, thank you for all your posts, they've always been informative, heartfelt and eloquent.
