Thank you for your prayers and voicing your concern! My Chiropractor is amazing! I’ve been going to him off and on for the past 11 years or so. However, prior to going to him, I was a patient of a different chiropractor that messed me up BAD so I understand the possibility of bad DCs! My DC is able to adjust my mid and low back...just not my neck yet. I feel better after each visit it’s just it didn’t help the rib/tube pain because it’s obviously stemming from my G tube and not my spine. I’ve come a long way with my neck just not quite enough yet. I would say I probably have 60 to 70% of the range of motion back where I literally had 0% right after the wreck. If he tried to adjust my neck at this point my body would treat it as another whiplash so he’s doing stem/TENS, ice, and gentle stretches for it at this point. EDS makes healing SO complicated as I know you understand! I do have a very good chiropractor who has helped me recover from injuries/car accidents in the past to where I didn’t have to go back for quite some time (until something else happened) and didn’t prolong treatment plans (ending after twice a week for 4 weeks). I finished up treatment for the previous wreck and was doing rather well in that department until this last wreck 6 months later. The previous (bad) chiropractor I had made it to where I was going in almost daily (sometimes multiple times in a day) because I was in such a bad way (due to me not realizing he was causing it). That continued until he started bragging to the DC in charge that he could do things to make patient have to keep coming back and was ultimately kicked out of the office. So yeah, I learned the hard way that there are bad DCs out there and changed offices/DC completely! I do thank you for being concerned and bringing that up because there’s always that possibility of bad DCs and even just DCs that have no clue about EDS and connective tissue problems....and there’s always the possibility I wouldn’t have known or thought about it (like with my previous experience)!

I will definitely be telling everyone about the whiplash if I end up needing surgery! I always ask them several times before being put under anesthesia to transfer me gently because I have EDS and my joints come out of place easily! I didn’t do that once and I payed for it dearly for the longest time....so that’s one thing I’m sure to remember every time! No muscle control, EDS joints, and rough transfers definitely do NOT go together!!
