I met Allison and Kurt on a brigade in Honduras. And when
you say "there is not a stranger she met" that resonates so much with my experience. I spent only 10 days with Allison. Her grace kindness and bright spirit have since then left a lasting impression.
To loose her light is a big loss. I am so so sorry for your loss.
What a beautiful eulogy. Your mom was all you described and more. She made the world a better place, and she raised three beautiful children to continue on in her spirit. Sending my love to you all.
What a beautiful eulogy! Your mother possessed and shared so much love with so many, especially your dad and you three kids. She absolutely wins the mom award. Thank you for sharing and honoring her.
Thank you for sharing, Emily. I wanted so badly to be there to honor Allison, but that wasn’t meant to be. Jeff said your family was incredibly strong this weekend. No doubt a trait you all soaked up from your mom. Your family remains in our hearts. Allison remains part of our special group of Prince of Peace families!
Life is most definitely not fair, as you have most eloquently said, Emily. But what gets us through these most awful times are the memories that we have of people who have blessed our lives. My mother and your mother were quite a bit alike. Ironically, they were both the same age when they passed, with the same illness. And even though I still miss her greatly after all these years, her memories comfort and sustain me, as Allison's will certainly comfort your family in the coming days. You all remain in Janet and my thoughts and prayers
This is so beautiful, Emily. Your mom was such a fun person. It was always great to see her at POP when I was teaching there. Your family will continue to be in my prayers. God bless all of you!
