Happy Thanksgiving to all!

It's approaching 3 months since my mother passed away.  My dad is adjusting.  He seems to always know his wife passed away.  The term mother, mom has been a difficult thing for my dad since his memory loss.  On occasion he will tell me to go visit mom or mom is sick.  I had started calling my mom- Marianne to my dad quite awhile ago.  Using her name seemed to help him know who I was talking about.  I go with the flow when it comes to these conversations.

Edgewater did a lovely memorial service for members who had passed away in September last month.  My dad and I attended.  Staff spoke about my mom's quiet humor.  I was appreciative of the service and glad we were able to attend.

Allen is staying healthy and tells me he is happy.  My dad is the champ of Kings in the Corner.  I hear all the time what a good player he is.  He is always "going somewhere and won't be at Edgewater" when I get ready to leave and tell him that I will see him in a couple days.

I hope heaven is preparing for a huge Thanksgiving feast and my mom is busy making dinner rolls.  I am sure she is ready to sit at the table with all of your lost love ones.

If you haven't received your thank you note from my mom's passing.  It is coming.  We were so blessed with the show of support.  I look forward to working with the Atlantic Schools Foundation to put the memorials to a needed project.
