Alison’s Story

Site created on June 30, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
A little about what is going on:
Alison was diagnosed with a rare disease called Atypical-HUS and it primarily affects kidney function. This condition causes abnormal blood clots to form in small blood vessels in the kidneys. These blood clots can cause serious medical problems if they restrict blood flow. There is no cure for this disease yet. Alison has been having treatments since last year. Her kidneys are failing and she needs a kidney transplant and that is scheduled for July 20th. Her sister, Karen Luther is her kidney donor. We will be keeping updates on both of them on this site so feel free to look everyday.
Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

Journal entry by Tierra Luther

Hello!
Sorry I haven’t gotten on here for awhile. My mom got out of the hospital yesterday! Still uncomfortable and has pain but doing better today. She got ready and took a shower and that really helped her feel better. Alison is doing good today too, also uncomfortable. Each day will be better and better. Just happy to have everyone back here. Keep sending healing vibes their way.
