Alisha’s Story

Site created on October 22, 2021

Alisha was diagnosed with leukemia yesterday (10/21/21).  At this point she is being admitted to the hospital for treatment.  She will be there for 4-6 weeks.  We are waiting on tests to know what type of leukemia she has.  Please pray it is the type that is more responsive to treatment.  She is also asking for prayer for her kids to be able to come see her in the hospital.  Right now that is not the case.  We will do our very best to post updates here.  Thank you for your prayers for Alisha and her family, it is greatly appreciated!

First, THANK YOU, thank you to the army of our friends and family and even some of the people we didn't know, that have been here for Alisha and me. Thank you for responding to my posts, that brought me a lot of comfort. If I haven't thanked you personally or forgot who sent what, please know we are eternally thankful for you. My kids were beyond blessed as well.

Alisha had the marrow biopsy today. She had been dreading the pain for 2 months. I couldn't be in there with her because of rules that I am doing my best to stay positive and submit to. Alisha was sedated and the procedure went well. Apparently the drugs were successful because Alisha thought she was there for 5 minutes.

Alisha is resting, Ruby is playing with the train under the tree. Austin is researching IOS differences throughout the year. Lilly is doing "homework"( I'll go check after I am done). Griffin is out in the dark playing with his buddies in the snow. Tonight this is a peaceful house. I am thankful for the rest. We have a ton to deal with down the road, but not tonight.
