Journal entry by Julie Soma

Hi all!  Hopefully all of you have seen my Mom's obituaries in Wenatchee World and Chelan Mirror.
If it weren't for COVID we would have had her service and celebration of life in Chelan by now but waiting a bit more for states to reopen back up to be able to plan a date for Alice festivities later this summer.
For family, friends and loved ones, a lot of closure and peace can be obtained through having memorial and such, and I look forward to this time with all of you.

For now I wanted to say huge thank you to:
...all of your thoughts and prayers expressed on social media including this site
...cards in mail for the family. I am sad my siblings aren't with me to see them too but I am keeping these treasures for when we meet up in Chelan to properly celebrate my Mom
...my Aunt Marlis and Uncle Jim who unselfishly gave two months of their time in person to provide love, care, companionship and everything else to my Mom (and me too..)...esp. humor and advice!! :)
...my brother Chad who was here helping Mom in final weeks of needed care
...my Mom's wonderful friends who have shown their ample love to my Mom
...special note to Sharon and Brad who are driving my Mom's yarns and unfinished afgan up to Chelan for friends in Guild B to make things for my Mom's beloved charities...Manger Mall and Lights of Love
...to friends sending in gifts to Lights of Love.
...to Karen Collins for coordinating above and her support and love through this journey with helping with Chelan friend communications
...Pastor Paul Palumbo who came to visit in early March and who organized within 3 hours notice a very special virtual Peace at Last service week my Mom passed that allowed my family and her friends to be together virtually to pray and give final blessings to my Mom as she passed later that week...

To all...love you much and special love to my two sisters Janet and Pam who I miss so much and haven't been able to see lately due to COVID...and other logistics.

Until we all meet again...hopefully this summer to give Allie the best darn celebration of life we can possibly in Chrlan but please know she is in amazing.place.snd hope when you think of her..you only smile and see her beautiful face..

If anyone has pictures they would like to include in her memorial video please email me at neweljewel@gmail.com

Hugs!!

Julie
