Journal entry by Alex Harken —
Hey everyone,
Coming to you all with a pretty exciting update. After speaking with Dr. Einhorn, the head guy at Indiana, he officially informed me that I am in remission!! The past year of blood work and scans have been "unremarkable" which in this sense is exactly what we wanted. He made sure that I understood the caveat of remission not meaning cured. There's currently still a 5% chance it could come back. Obviously the further out in remission I'm able to go, the lower that percentage gets. In this vain, I'll now be getting scans and blood work down every four months.
I'm so ecstatic to have gotten to this point. I could not have done it without all of the love, support, and prayer I received. Let me be living proof in how powerful faith can be.
