Alex and I were at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune. My first experience sailing was with him on a small boat. The beginning of a life long love for me. I was the Navy liaison for the races in San Diego . He opened a life and love for me.

Very saddened to hear about Alex...I met him in the mid 90's and he had a special warmth about him that you just knew he was a good man & a good captain at heart, too. God Bless his family and close friends and all that knew him - he was such a professional and he will certainly be missed. Gone too soon !!!

I was so sorry to hear of Alex's passing. I was introduced to Alex by Norma Trease years ago and we became immediate friends and shared interest as photographers. When every I see Alex or run into him in the yachting world he always brought a smile to my face and he always had fun stories to share with me. And, we'd always talk photography shop. I also being a New England girl, my grandfather lived in Marshfield, MA where I visited often. We had a lot in common for the love of New England. I'd always tell Alex how I thought Marshfield was so WICKED Cool! RIP, Alex, I'll miss you dearly. My condolences go out to his family and Caroline. I've uploaded some nice photos I took of Alex & Caroline at the 2019 ISS Super Yacht Awards. Alex looked smashing in his grandfathers blue brocade dinner jacket.

I am so very sad to hear the unexpected news of the passing of Alex. We were friends for decades haven first met in Antibes France back when we were actually sailing yachts. We kept in touch through the years on Facebook and on many occasions at annual yachting events. He is a memorable character with a big friendly smile. I also had the chance to meet Caroline with whom I give my condolences to and to his family. He was so proud to be a grandpa. I am sure many of us in the yachting industry will miss him and remember him fondly. Sad day today to hear this news.

We are so sad to hear of Captain Alex's passing.
My husband, Jim and I met Captain Alex through our son, Brian, who crewed for him aboard the Presidential Yacht Sequoia in 1997. Captain Alex's influence on Brian and his confidence in him, led Brian to obtain his captain's license within a year. We have never forgotten his kindness toward all of us.
We were aboard the Sequoia for the Annapolis Christmas Boat Parade and had Thanksgiving dinner on the ship with the crew in Alexandria, Virginia.
Brian has stayed in touch with Captain Alex for all these years, remembering Captain Alex, who saw potential in a young man.
May God rest Captain Alex as he has
"Crossed the Bar."
Our sympathy to his family and friends.
