Journal entry by Lin James —
Apologies for the lapse in communication- it has not been for lack of wanting to share updates. Keeping everything afloat has been all-consuming and I've admitttedly struggled to pause over the past months. I regret not making time to send an occasional note to you all to let you know how things are going. Thanks for the understanding, and the continued love and concern.
Life is funny sometimes. Today was suppposed to be my mom's celebration of life ceremony at sea to spread her ashes off a boat out of Atlantic Highlands, but the rain and high winds changed our plans for the day and ironically I have found this unanticipated opportunity to pause, reach out to all of you who have rallied around us since Alan's surgery, and share some good news on how he's doing.
In proper Irish form, Alan is fighting like a champ, and we got MRI results yesterday that show his tumor is stable, showing no signs of change or growth. We are celebrating this great news, as we hope to do after every scan for a long, long time to come. He's gaining strength and endurance, and feeling better and better, and we loook forward to continuing in this direction as he nears the end of treatment. (Gotta keep him off the pints though fellas! 😉) Chemo round 5 starts next week and then one more end of June, just in time for him to get his Irish tan on! 😎 We're anxiously awaiting reinstatement of his driver's license soon (hello, gamechanger!!!) and continued positive news to share!
Will strive to be more more consistent with updates go forward, but should I fall short, please know we are thinking of you all with love and gratitude.
