Journal entry by Andrea Chenoweth —
Dear Friends,
A reminder that this Saturday (April 30) will serve as our day to memorialize and celebrate Poppy.
First, there will be a service at Ardmore Presbyterian Church, 5 West Montgomery Ave, Ardmore, PA on at 1:30pm. If you are unable to attend in person, you may live-stream the service HERE.
A Memorial Concert will follow at Temple University's Performing Arts Center, 1837 Broad St., Philadelphia, PA at 5pm. Many thanks to Phil O'Banion for putting together a wonderful program that showcases many of Poppy's wonderful students and colleagues playing music that he loved. If you are unable to attend in person, you may live-stream the concert HERE.
There are many ways that we can honor Poppy's memory: spend a little extra time with a student who needs you, take someone out for ice cream, volunteer for a cause that is meaningful to you or to your community . . . If you wish, you might consider supporting the Alan Abel Endowed Percussion Scholarship Fund by visiting boyer.temple.edu/give-boyer
We look forward to seeing many of you at one or both of the events this weekend with gratitude for your presence (whether in-person or virtual).
Best,
Andrea Chenoweth Wells (for the family)
