Today we got some promise news on Alaina’s cysts, the one the doctor was really worried about (an evolving hemorrhagic cyst) was no longer present instead she grew a 5cm cystic appearing simple cyst. We have to do another ultrasound in a few weeks to make sure it’s gone. We made the decision to put her on a none estrogen birth control pill to hopefully stop her from growing cyst’s so rapidly. Alaina’s doctor put in a referral for the Mayo’s PRC program it’s an intensive pain management program that will be 3 weeks in Rochester. Alaina has an in-depth phone interview with them on Friday to figure out the best treatment plan for her chronic pain. They are pushing it through ASAP. We are at a constant 4-6 on the pain scale with Alaina’s pain in her mouth and cramping. We also are in the process of getting her into the in-depth discovery prognosis clinic to figure out a diagnosis and hopefully a way to improve her life.
